                              ABOUT US

   My husband (Bo) and I (Barbara) live on a small boer goat ranch between Howe and Van Alstyne, Texas, 56 miles north of Dallas and 10 miles south of Sherman just off of Highway 75. We purchased our first Boer Goats in March 2005 thinking that we would use them to clean off our acreage. At the time, we did not know anything about goats and we did not realize they were such picky eaters.  I also have no idea why we bought Registered Full Blood South African Boer Goats but we did. We had spoken with several breeders that have raised and sold livestock and they have made more money with goats than any other livestock. Bo had just taken early retirement because of health reasons. I thought I would try my hand at raising goats and see if I could bring in some income. After purchasing several goats I was hooked.

   The kids are the cutest little things I have ever seen. I also am crazy about the grown ones that come up and want to be loved on. Since I had never been around goats, I had never dreamed the Boer Goats would be so docile. Now don't take me wrong, there are also a few stinkers in the bunch, but when the does first started birthing here on our place, I was not only hooked, but I was reeled in. I really have a heart for these animals. 

   We have set three goals for our business:  (1) hope to raise the healthiest animals that we can, (2) hope that people who enjoy competing will find our animals show ring worthy, and (3) hope to produce good breeding stock.
